HIGH TEA HENS PARTIES
A Hens Party That’s Actually Elegant
All the celebration, none of the sash-and-tequila regret the next morning. A hens party that actually feels like a proper afternoon with the people who matter most to her.

Why High Tea Works Beautifully for a Hens Party
A hens party doesn’t need a run sheet, a bar crawl, or a night that requires everyone to recover the next day. High tea gives the bride’s closest people a few unhurried hours together, actual conversation, good food, nobody shouting over music to be heard. It works whether the guest list is five best friends or twenty-five, and it suits every kind of hen, the ones who’d rather sip champagne over scones than do shots at midnight. Elegant doesn’t mean formal. It just means the day feels considered.
A Different Kind of Hens Party
Hens parties have a reputation, sashes, matching t-shirts, a night that ends with someone losing a shoe. That’s a fine way to celebrate if it’s genuinely her thing. But plenty of brides would rather spend the afternoon somewhere beautiful, with good food and the people who’ve actually been there for her, without a scavenger hunt or a themed cocktail in sight. High tea gives you that alternative. Elegant, relaxed, and entirely about her, not a stereotype she never asked for.

Plan a Hens Party Around the Bride
The best hens parties start with her, not the traditions.
Ask What She Actually Wants
Don’t assume the sash and games, or that she wants the day to end early. Ask, even if it spoils a bit of the surprise.
Let Her Approve the List
Check who she’d genuinely want there before the invites go out.
Consider Her Comfort Level
Some brides love the spotlight all day. Others would rather it stay low-key.
Pick Her Vibe, Not a Trend
Pinterest-popular doesn’t automatically mean it suits her taste.
Skip Traditions She’d Hate
Games, dares and matching tees are optional, however normal they feel.
High Tea Doesn’t Have to Be the Whole Day
Plenty of our brides treat it as the elegant first half, before heading off for cocktails or a night out.
Time It Around Her
Not the week before the wedding, and not so early it feels disconnected from it.
Let Her Actually Relax, At Least for This Part
Even if the day continues afterwards, high tea is the slow stretch where she gets to sit down and be celebrated.
High Tea Hens Party Food Ideas
Expect the classics done properly, finger sandwiches, scones, a spread of sweets, plenty to keep the afternoon going before anyone heads off for the next part of the day. See our full High Tea Menu for the complete lineup, including dietary options.

Where to Host Your High Tea Hens Party
Wherever you land, the table does the heavy lifting.
A Home
Relaxed and personal, ideal for a smaller, closer group.
A Private Venue
Suits a bigger guest list, with room to move afterwards.
A Rooftop or Garden
A bit of occasion, especially good before an evening out.
Vintage Crockery Hire
A hens party table doesn’t need a themed set of matching plates to feel elegant. A few well-chosen vintage pieces, teacups, cake stands, ornate cutlery, do more for the occasion than decorations ever will, and they suit anything from an intimate afternoon to a bigger celebration before the night continues.
Styling an Elegant Hens Party
Elegant doesn’t mean fussy. A few flowers, a proper table setting, and some genuinely good food do more for the mood than a themed decoration haul ever will. If she’s into it, a small styling touch tied to something personal, her favourite colour, a nod to how the bridal party met, goes further than anything generic.
Activities are entirely optional. Some groups are happy to sit, eat, and talk for the whole afternoon. Others like to add something extra: a paint and sip after, a private cocktail class, a game that’s more gentle teasing than public humiliation. Either way, the high tea works as the anchor, elegant and unhurried, whatever comes before or after it.
You Relax. We’ll Handle The High Tea.
Organising a hens party comes with its own particular pressure, get it wrong and it’s tacky instead of elegant, too tame or too much, not quite her. That’s the part we take off your hands. Every detail, from the crockery to the food to the styling. You get to actually enjoy the afternoon instead of managing it, and she gets a celebration that feels exactly as considered as the rest of her wedding.
High Tea Hens FAQ
Got questions about planning a hens party high tea? We’ve gathered the ones we hear most, so you can plan with confidence.
We are not licenced to sell you alcohol but can certainly add gorgeous crystal cut champagne flutes, wine glasses, coupes or tumblers to your high tea package for you to serve your drinks! Some packages include flutes as standard so be sure to check your inclusions when booking.
Either works. Some hen groups make it the entire celebration, others treat the high tea as the elegant first half before heading off for cocktails, a class, or a night out.
Very well suited, actually. High tea doesn’t require anyone to keep up with a loud venue or a late night, which makes it comfortable for guests of every generation in the group. It also allows for older guests to be included in the day without having to attend the evening shenanigans.
Both. If your guest list is on the smaller side, our Small Group Packages are worth a look, since our standard packages have a guest minimum that won’t suit every hens party.
